Tinubu Appoints Daniel Bwala, Names 3 New Directors-General for Federal Agencies

President Tinubu announces a significant appointment for Daniel Bwala and names three new Directors-General to lead federal agencies, marking strategic shifts in governance. 

According to a statement released on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, President Bola Tinubu has named Daniel Bwala as his Special Adviser for Media and Public Communications at the State House.

Bwala, a former aide to ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, played an active role in supporting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate during the 2023 presidential election. After Atiku lost to Tinubu, Bwala’s decision to switch his political support to Tinubu sparked significant discussion.

Onanuga also announced the appointment of three individuals as directors-general for different government agencies:

Mr. Olawale Olopade has been named the Director-General of the National Sports Commission. As a seasoned sports administrator, he formerly held the position of Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State and led the organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.

Dr. Abisoye Fagade has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. As a marketing communications specialist, he is also the founder and managing director of Sodium Brand Solutions.

Dr. Adebowale Adedokun has assumed the role of Director-General at the Bureau of Public Procurement. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning within the bureau.

These new appointments demonstrate President Tinubu’s ongoing commitment to enhancing expertise and leadership in crucial government agencies.
