Leaders from all around Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja have praised Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, for the present reforms that are being implemented.

Following their meeting in Abuja on Thursday, they made their remarks in a press release that was made accessible to OBASANJO NEWS24.

The group, which operates under the aegis of the Indigenous Coalition for Good Governance in the FCT, praised the Tinubu administration for its accomplishments in its brief time in office.

The coalition’s leader and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lazarus Zaka Gaza, expressed his sincere gratitude for the impressive accomplishments made thus far by the Tinubu government.

As a native son, Gaza asserted that he was aware of all events taking on in the FCT. He emphasised that the current administration has taken numerous audacious steps to elevate the federal capital.

“I speak today with great joy over recent events in my constituency, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja,” he declared.

“Being a true son of the soil, I have had the opportunity to travel much and have gained a worldwide perspective on what government is and what its main duties are.

On May 29, 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took the oath of office to lead the Nigerian government. Since then, he has “hit the ground running.”

The Federal Capital Territory Administration’s (FCTA) former Director of Human Resources Management, Gaza, called Tinubu “the leader that FCT has been yearning for.”

His Excellency, Barrister Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, he continued, “is a clear demonstration of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President and is using the power of the President in the FCT.

“Let me be clear, Mr. President: The people of the FCT are not just appreciative; we are joyfully delighted by this brilliant move to put the FCT in a position to reap the benefits that other states are reaping by establishing the FCT Civil Service commission.

“This will be remembered as the single most effective action to guarantee that natives and residents of the FCT fully and correctly reach the pinnacle of their careers.

This indicates that we can advance to become Permanent Secretaries and reap the rewards as a nation.

Furthermore, he praised the FCT’s removal from the Treasury Single Account, calling it “a class act that shows the special place Mr. President has placed FCT in the grand scheme of things in Nigeria.”

He was pleased with the women affairs secretariat since it, in his opinion, showed a special commitment to uplifting FCT women and providing them with a genuine platform to realise their full potential.

“As a consummate politician who can proudly claim to have worked alongside the President in the National Assembly during the disastrous Third Republic and as the first representative from Abuja from 1991 to 1993,” he continued, “I can emphasise that these achievements of our President have greatly improved our great party’s position for outstanding victories in the upcoming elections in the FCT.

“This is because the grand ambitions Mr. President has for our people are now finally starting to be seen and felt by them.

“The selection of His Excellency Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as the Hon Minister of the FCT is something I personally credit Mr. President with pulling off brilliantly.

“With all due respect, I declare that Wike is a classic case of a round peg in a round hole.

“More than any other has confirmed his status as a phenomenal performer,” said the former governor of Rivers State. “His antecedents as a former governor of Rivers State and the awesome results he has produced just after a few months as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory has more than any other confirmed his status as a phenomenal performer.”

Gaza also praised Wike for taking swift action to address the insecurity in and around the FCT and for starting the road restoration process within the city and its surroundings.

He pleaded with all FCT natives and people to rally more support for the FCT Minister and President.
