On Tuesday afternoon at the Villa, the President and the development economist had a meeting.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), and President Bola Tinubu met on Tuesday in the Aso Villa in Abuja.
Following her meeting with the President, Okonjo-Iweala told reporters at the Presidential Villa that they discussed how to help young people find jobs and how to support women and children, who she claimed took the brunt of the nation’s hardship.
Two months ago, both leaders met in France at President Emmanuel Macron’s hosted Global Pact Summit in Paris.
As the country’s first female finance minister, Okonjo-Iweala held the office for two terms, from 2011 to 2015 and from 2003 to 2006.
She also had a 25-year career at the World Bank, where she advanced to the post of Managing Director No. 2.
