Tinubu and Obi lose to Atiku in Kebbi
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), won the Kebbi presidential election on Saturday with 285 175.
Upon announcing the results in Birnin Kebbi, the State Collation Officer, Prof. Usman Saidu, stated that Sen. Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APCpresidential )’s candidate, received 248,088 votes.
Saidu reported that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), also received 10,682 votes, while the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) received 5,038.
He stated that there were 1,983,985 registered voters in the state, 599,201 accredited voters, 591,475 ballots were cast, and 559,522 votes were genuine, with 31,953 votes being rejected.
The Director-General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Kebbi State, and party agent, Alhaji Bala Dole, expressed gratitude for it in a press conference shortly after the results were announced.
He asserted that his party would have received more votes if not for a few “minor glitches.”
Alhaji Ja’afar Ahmed, an agent for the All Progressives Congress (APC), added that there were problems with the outcome and insisted that violence, the delayed delivery of election materials, BVAS malfunctions, and various sorts of inducement were present during the process.
Alhaji Ahmed Bello-Mahmud, the state’s resident electoral commissioner (REC), responded by expressing his gratitude for the way the elections were conducted: calmly, fairly, credibly, and definitively, without any animosity.
He urged the electorate to keep things moving in the upcoming elections for the sake of everyone.
