The Natives, a group representing 371 ethnic, religious, and tribal backgrounds with millions of members across Nigeria, extended their congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his one-year anniversary of the Renewed Hope Agenda and 25 years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria. They also expressed their appreciation for his significant role in upholding the country’s democratic progress.
In a press release issued on Thursday, The Natives praised the leadership of both President Tinubu and Senate President Akpabio, highlighting the positive and corrective measures they have implemented since taking office a year ago.
Hon. Smart Edwards, the Supreme Leader of The Natives, emphasized the improvements in democratic processes, inclusivity, and collaboration that have been achieved under the current National Assembly leadership.
Hon. Edwards lauded Senator Akpabio as a visionary leader who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities over the past year. Drawing a parallel with Singapore’s founding father, Lee Kuan Yew, he called on Nigerians to renew their optimism and back the current government, irrespective of political, tribal, or religious affiliations.
“Today signifies the commencement of a transformative and corrective National Assembly. We applaud the outstanding leadership within the National Assembly, acknowledging a man of integrity whose guidance, enthusiasm, and commitment we, as Natives of this nation, wholeheartedly endorse,” the statement concluded.
Under the leadership of Senate President Akpabio, it was stated that Nigeria has experienced a revitalized dedication to national unity and endeavors to revive the nation’s hopes and ambitions. The guidance provided by Akpabio and House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas has enhanced democratic procedures by promoting inclusivity and collaboration.
The citizens commended the legislative actions led by Akpabio, tackling critical national issues ranging from economic reforms to social welfare programs. These actions, as observed, demonstrate a commitment to substantial transformation and have bolstered Nigeria’s standing on the international platform.
The statement ended by expressing gratitude towards Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, and Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, as well as their respective leadership teams, for their sacrifices and steadfast commitment during the 10th National Assembly.
