According to Nigerian musician Adekunle Gold, the song “Great Nation” by Timi Dakolo, his colleague, would have been a better national anthem than the one the nation eventually went back to.
According to Obasanjonews.com, President Bola Tinubu signed National Anthem Bill 2024 into law on Wednesday, bringing back the traditional anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
Adekunle Gold reacted by questioning why the government had not adopted Timi Dakolo’s “Great Nation” as the nation’s new anthem.
“No one thought Timi Dakolo’s Great Nation makes a better anthem?” he wrote on his X Twitter.
