Three people are killed as Bauchi police search for bandit hideouts
The Ningi Local Government Area was being terrorized by two suspected bandits, according to the Bauchi State Police Command. During a raid on their hideouts, an informant was also killed.
According to a report by Obasanjonews24, kidnappings have been occurring often in Ningi LGA while general unrest has remained, particularly among peasant farmers who are now frightened to go to their land.
Auwal Musa Muhammad, the newly appointed state’s commissioner of police, provided the information during the press conference’s questions and answers session on Monday at the state’s police headquarters.
While the Police continue to be on high alert, according to Musa, security personnel have been mobilized for the impacted communities.
The date of the operation and the number of additional arrests, however, were both kept secret by him.
He stated, “I’m very much aware that an arrest has been made, and the Joint Task Force that is being assisted by the state government killed two of the bandits, and they were able to acquire roughly two informants, while one was regrettably slain as well.
The CP claimed that all hands are on deck to stop the infamous Sara-Suka group’s malicious acts, which have been scaring state residents as well.
Muhammad had earlier stated at the press conference that “the Police shall continue to maintain and strengthen collaborative partnerships with all sister security agencies and community stakeholders to ensure community security and to proactively deal with emerging security threats to the state.”
In order to ensure that all criminal cases are properly prosecuted, he also stated that the Police will work with the judiciary and the ministry of justice.
