Three men indicted for the theft of N2m worth of goods
On Friday, three men—Kareem Lamidi, 48, Isreal Aremu, 33, and Olapo Oyeleye, 18—were charged with theft of merchandise worth N2 million in front of an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court.
The defendants are on trial for a two-count police-preferred charge of conspiracy and theft; their residence addresses were withheld.

The court was told by the prosecutor, ASP Bendict Aigbokhan, that the defendants had committed the alleged offences at House 33, Iyalaje Estate, Ejigbo, Lagos, on October 10, at six in the morning.
He claimed that the complainant, Ademola Tolulope, owned gas lines and window blinds worth N2 million that the defendants had stolen.
He claims that the offences are against Lagos State’s 2015 Criminal Law.
The three simultaneously entered not guilty pleas to the charges.
However, Magistrate K. A. Ariyo granted them bail in the amount of N300,000 with two sureties each in an equivalent amount, with the requirement that the sureties work a job and provide proof of their tax payments to the Lagos State Government.
She then postponed the case’s resolution until January 12, 2024.
