Three Dismissed Police Officers Remanded in Prison

Three former police officers have been remanded in prison following their dismissal from the force, facing charges related to misconduct. The case highlights ongoing efforts to address corruption within law enforcement.

The three police officers dismissed from the Kwara Police Command have been remanded in prison in connection to the death of Qoyum Ishola.

A statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer of the Kwara Command, DSP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, on Friday, the suspects are facing charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.

The statement reads: “The Kwara State Police Command wishes to inform the public that the three dismissed officers, Mr Abiodun Kayode, Mr James Emmanuel, and Mr Oni Philip, have been charged to court on 16th October, 2024.

They face charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide in connection with the death of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola. They have been remanded in prison custody pending further court proceedings.”
