In connection with the disappearance of three Benuean children, a medical practitioner was detained in Rivers, according to the Benue Police Command on Sunday.
After a report about the missing youngsters, the Rivers police detained the unnamed medical practitioner.
The children were discovered in the doctor’s care at Rumuokoro, according to a statement issued by Makurdi command spokesperson SP Sewuese Anene.
Anene stated that on September 24, the Command was notified of the disappearance of two of his children by a Mr. Godwin Kpaakpa of Badagry Street, which is next to St. Peters Church Wurukum, Makurdi.
According to Anene, Benedict and Philomena were two years and six years old, respectively.
She added that the two kids and one other were found in the doctor’s hands after a surgery, and that the leadership had started an investigation and issued a signal to all states.
On October 20, word reached us from Rivers Police Command that, during an operation in the Rumuokoro area, they had saved three children from a medical doctor; these appear to be the same youngsters that Benue Command had previously reported.
“A detective team was dispatched to the state of Rivers to conduct identification and take other necessary steps.
Thankfully, the two kids were recognised together with Godsgift Julius, a toddler whose parents have not yet been found.
“Godsgift has not yet made contact with his family, but Philippa and Benedict have been reunited with theirs.
“Efforts are being made to locate his accomplices in Benue while Rivers Command is investigating the medical doctor,” she continued.
The spokeswoman for the Command suggested that parents keep an eye on their children’s whereabouts in order to protect them from human traffickers.
