Three bandits shot dead by police in Katsina, while saving kidnap victims
According to the Katsina State Police Command, all of the kidnappees have been freed, three suspected bandits have been slain, and a kidnapping attempt has been foiled.
As stated by the command’s spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the event took place in Sabuwa Local Government Area’s Duya village, specifically in Maibakko Ward.
Information of armed bandits attacking Duya village with deadly weapons and kidnapping several women was received by the Sabuwa Divisional Police Headquarters on June 7, 2024.
“As soon as the complaint was received, CSP Aliyu Mustapha, the Divisional Headquarters DPO, coordinated with the vigilante members to send a team of operatives to the scene.

The robbers opened fire on the team as soon as they realised they were there, but the crew bravely retaliated, stopping the kidnapping attempt and saving all of the victims who had been taken hostage.
“Three neutralised suspected bandits’ bodies were found during the scene’s scanning,” Sadiq-Aliyu stated.
He continued by saying that the state’s commissioner of police, Mr. Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, has praised the agents for their extraordinary bravery and valour.
Additionally, Abubakar-Musa reaffirmed the command’s dedication to guaranteeing the security and safety of the state’s citizens.
