The Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos will be shut down by the Federal Government (FG) for repairs from Saturday, October 21, at midnight, until Sunday, October 22, at midnight.
The government was prepared to commence complete rehabilitation works on the bridge, starting with repairs of the key areas, according to a statement from the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha.
The Third Mainland Bridge will undergo extensive repairs, the Federal Government has announced. This information is being shared with the driving public, according to Kesha.

But in order to lessen the discomfort being felt on the bridge, she added, “the Ministry would be carrying out palliative works on the most critically failed sections along the Adeniji bound carriageway on Sunday, Oct. 22 in preparation for the comprehensive repair works.”
In order to ensure smooth traffic flow, she asked drivers to cooperate with the traffic control officers by following all directions and obeying any diversions.
The Adeniji end of the bridge, however, will be closed to traffic from Saturday, Oct. 21 to Sunday, 22nd 12.00 midnight, she said. “Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible during the period of the palliative works.”
