Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transport, declared the reopening in a statement on Thursday.

He stated, “We are happy to announce that the Third Mainland Bridge will reopen today, December 21, 2023, by 6 pm. Parts of the bridge were closed last month.”

According to him, the public can now access the entire bridge, guaranteeing safer and more reliable connectivity.

He also expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their patience during the closure, which lasted for a month, and said the Lagos administration recognised the inconvenience the closure would have caused.

Osiyemi claims that the government’s dedication to maintaining public safety and infrastructure is reaffirmed by the reopening.

The announcement by the Ministry of Works on behalf of the Federal Government that it would be closing two ramps on the Third Mainland Bridge for repairs is more than a month old.
