According to the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), the Aviation Resuscitation Programme for Cadet Pilots and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers has started.

This was revealed on Tuesday in a statement from Mr. Freston Akpor, Senior Assistant on Media to the PAP Interim Administrator (IA).

According to the statement, the training was done as part of initiatives to help former agitators find stable employment and build a talent pool for Nigeria’s aviation industry.

It stated that the ceremonial start of the training took place on Monday in Lagos.

In a speech at the ceremony, Gen. Barry Ndiomu, Interim Administrator of PAP, was quoted in the announcement as adding that “enormous opportunities abound for the beneficiaries in global aviation.”

Wilfred Musa, the PAP’s Head of Reintegration, spoke on behalf of Ndiomu and recalled that previous PAP governments had worked to restructure the training curriculum.

According to the statement, Ndiomu insisted that the only difficulties were administrative hiccups and the aviation industry’s complexity, which prevented even minor progress from being achieved.

“Ndiomu claimed that the flag-off of the scheme was started more than eight years ago and that this demonstrated how seriously the current PAP leadership took improving the lives of former agitators.
