The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, or COSEYL, says that the large crowd at the Labour Party’s presidential campaign rally in Onitsha, Anambra State, on Tuesday shows that Nigerians like the party’s nominee, Peter Obi, for the next election.
Thousands of Obi’s fans descended on the event in Onitsha despite assertions by the governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, that one of his predecessors had not done anything for the state.
In response, the coalition put out a statement telling reporters that the huge turnout was a “clear sign to those who hired Governor Charles Soludo to attack Peter Obi that Anambra people and Nigerians are solidly behind Obi.”
They assert that deeds speak louder than words. The people of Onitsha have expressed their support for Mr. Peter Obi as president of Nigeria in 2023 in the same manner as Nigerians in Edo and other states of the country.
The statement continued, “We have seen with our own eyes that Nigerians have woken up to take back their country from those who are hell-bent on destroying it through corruption and other vices.”
