Simi Kosoko, the sensational singer, recently shared an interesting revelation about her 2017 hit song ‘Joromi’. In an interview with CNN, the Afrobeats star admitted that she initially sang the song with irritation and wasn’t a fan of it when she wrote it.

It’s intriguing to learn that sometimes even talented artists like Simi face moments of creative struggle and have to push themselves to meet deadlines.

However, her team sent her the beat for the song, and she had to come up with lyrics for it. Initially, she wrote five different songs on that beat, none of which she liked. But then, ‘Joromi’ came to her as a deadline song.

Despite feeling irritated at the time, Simi expressed her gratitude for writing ‘Joromi’. She admitted that she didn’t even want to write the song initially, but now she’s glad she did.

It’s fascinating to see how a song that was born out of frustration and deadline pressure turned into a massive hit for Simi.
