This phase of the project, covering 32.2 kilometers out of the total 110 kilometers, is named after former Governor Rashidi Ladoja and marks a significant milestone in the initiative that Governor Makinde has undertaken, following unsuccessful attempts by previous administrations.
The South-East Wing of the project, which includes six bridges and two interchanges, has been fully completed since 2023.
In addition to the road infrastructure component, Governor Makinde and Prof. Charles Soludo will also oversee the commissioning of three Junction Improvement Works in the Idi-Ape-Civic Centre-Agodi Gate axis.
These works were specifically constructed to improve traffic flow within the city and enhance overall transportation efficiency.
The Makinde administration’s proactive approach towards the Ibadan Circular Road Project reflects a strong commitment to enhancing the state’s infrastructure, particularly with a focus on economic development.
The Ibadan Circular Road Project is divided into four sections, namely the South-East Wing (32.2km), North-East Wing (20km), North-West Wing (33km), and South-West Wing (24km).
This comprehensive project, totaling 110 kilometers, aims to encircle the city of Ibadan and alleviate traffic congestion within the urban area.
Furthermore, the project will strategically connect key locations such as the Ibadan-Ife Expressway, Moniya train station, and Ilutuntun Business District, all of which are crucial for the state’s economic growth.
The development of the Oluyole Free Trade Zone, proposed by the government, is also expected to benefit from this infrastructure project, highlighting its multifaceted advantages for the region.
