Terrorists on motorbikes slaughter 19 people in Zamfara, residents flee
According to reports, terrorists attacked Riyoji village in Birnin Tsaba District, Zurmi Local Government Area, Zamfara State, and claimed to have murdered 19.
It was learned that during the incident last Wednesdayabout 10pm, the terrorists also hurt a few locals.
Mohammed Lawal, a local, claimed over the phone that the terrorists rode into the town on motorbikes and began firing erratically.
“As soon as they (terrorists) entered the area, they started shooting at anybody they came across, murdering 19 people and injuring many more.
Since many individuals raced into the jungle for cover, many of them were able to flee, according to Lawal.
According to him, the terrorists took important things, including food and livestock, and many residents of the village—particularly women and children—fled to other nearby settlements out of concern that the terrorists may come back.
Lawal urged the government to help the community by sending security personnel to guard them against ongoing terrorist assaults.
SP Mohammed Shehu, the state police public relations officer, was unable to be reached for comment.
Similar to that, Ibrahim Dosara, the state’s commissioner for information, ignored his call and the text message that was delivered to him as of the time this report was produced.
