Terrorists Attack Katsina Community, Kill Two, Abduct APC Chairman and 13 Others

Terrorists have struck a community in Katsina, killing two people and kidnapping the local APC chairman along with 13 others. The incident highlights the ongoing insecurity in the region.

Suspected terrorists launched an attack on Dan Auta village in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the abduction of 14 others. Among those kidnapped were women, children, and Alhaji Imamu, the local All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman.

The attack that occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Friday resulted in the death of a member of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC).

According to eyewitnesses, a large group of attackers on motorcycles armed with automatic weapons invaded the village and captured several residents.

Local vigilantes and members of the KSCWC reportedly tried to fend off the attack but were outnumbered and overpowered by the heavily armed attackers.

Several residents were injured during the invasion and are currently receiving medical care at the local primary healthcare center.

As of the time this report was filed, efforts to contact the Katsina State Police Command for confirmation were unsuccessful.
