In an effort to improve service delivery for Nigerians and the national economy, the federal government has ordered ten operational mail vehicles for the Nigerian Postal Services.

On Thursday, when the cars were unveiled in Abuja, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami, stated that this demonstrated that NIPOST was moving toward transformation.

According to him, “The trucks were purchased through the internally generated revenue of NIPOST, not with Federal Government’s allocation.”

The nation’s digital economy would be greatly impacted, according to Adeyemi Sunday Adepoju, the Postmaster General of the Federation and CEO of the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST, in earlier statements.

In order to compete well in the country’s electronic communication, e-commerce, logistics, and courier industries, he stated, NIPOST created the vehicles.

Adepoju continued by saying that NIPOST will keep pursuing innovations under his leadership that would enhance service delivery and restore the public’s faith in the organization’s capacity to deliver on its promises.

“Today, as ten brand-new JAC TRUCKS of 3/4 tons each are being put into service for the purpose of covering National Mail Routes, we are seeing another concrete manifestation of that dedication.

The commissioning of these vehicles today, “The Hon. Minister, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, is a build-up to those remarkable and indeed significant milestones in the efforts of the current NIPOST management to meet the needs of the contemporary customer and improve the socio-economic life of the people of this great Country. Nigeria would be able to stand proudly among other countries’ postal administrations with the aid of effective and efficient National Mail Routes, he said.
