After claiming to purchase medications from the complainant’s pharmacy, Jacob said the defendant and another individual planned to steal an Infinix Smart 7 phone belonging to Oladapo Olubukola.
When they approached the pharmacy, he claimed that the defendant pretended to be sick, and then they took her telephone.
Prior to the defendant’s detention and appearance in court, the prosecutor claimed that the police were able to monitor the defendant’s mobile number.
The prosecutor further stated that the act was illegal and violated Section 390 of the Criminal Code Cap. 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, who did not have a lawyer, entered a not guilty plea to the single-count theft accusation brought against him.
The defendant was given bail in the amount of N300,000, with two sureties also being granted bail in the same amount, by Magistrate A. Adeniran.
The sureties must have proof of paid taxes, according to Adeniran, and they must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
It was decided to postpone the hearing until November 13.
