The Kaduna State Cycling Team, which is currently competing in the 7th National Youth Games in Asaba Delta State and earned its first-ever gold medal, has received congratulations from Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.
Governor Sani praised the team’s outstanding performance during the 80-kilometer road race in a statement released by his chief press secretary, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, and called winning the gold medal “a significant achievement that has brought pride to not only the team but to the entire Kaduna State.”
The Kaduna State Cycling Team also succeeded at the 7th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, winning a bronze medal in the 10-kilometer Individual Time Trial (ITT). It reads
He claims that the successes at the competition are evidence of the hard work and dedication put forth by the riders, coaches, and management to keep Kaduna at the top of Nigeria’s athletic hierarchy.
“Governor Sani has also instructed Professor Benjamin Gugong, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Sports Development, to immediately visit and meet with the squad in Asaba, Delta State, in an effort to further bolster squad Kaduna’s morale at the ongoing competitions.
He claimed that doing this would ensure that they gave it their all and finished the National Youth Games as top champions. The statement went on to say
