In response to the recent surge in kidnappings and killings by bandits in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and other parts of the country, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, convened a crucial meeting with the Force Management Team and commanders of Police Tactical Squads.

The purpose of the meeting was to devise strategies to combat the activities of these bandits who are causing terror in various regions.

The IGP, expressing concern over the escalating security crisis in the nation, stressed the importance of taking decisive action.

In order to reassure Nigerians, especially the residents of the FCT, about improved security, the IGP instructed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Department of Operations, to personally oversee the implementation of enhanced security measures aimed at dismantling kidnappers and other criminal elements in the FCT and restoring normalcy promptly.

The meeting focused on conducting a comprehensive review of the current security challenges, strategic planning, and the deployment of tactical resources to address emerging threats. The IGP emphasized the necessity of a coordinated and intelligence-driven approach to tackle the evolving security landscape.
