Taraba NULGE support Burba for chairman
Following the election of a new chairman, the strife inside the Taraba State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, has finally come to an end.
At a State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday in Jalingo, union members from each of the state’s three senatorial districts unanimously supported Yakubu Tanko Burba for chairman.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, the union recently expressed concern over suspected efforts by some government officials to appoint an unpopular candidate as its chairman.
Following the former chairman’s nomination by Governor Agbu Kefas as a commissioner, the union had a crisis.
Burba promised to maintain an open door approach in his remarks following his election as chairman.
In the best interests of the union, he beckoned for members who were offended to put down their weapons.
