The inability to bring back FC Taraba and the Taraba Queens has been linked by Joseph Joshua, the Taraba State Commissioner of Youth and Sports, to the current disputes within the state chapter of the Nigerian Football Association.

Due to problems, the male and female football teams controlled by the state have not existed for more than five years.

The Commissioner gave assurances that Governor Agbu Kefas will make amends for the injustices that have severely hampered football in the state during a media scrum on Saturday in Jalingo.

He reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to developing and displaying all of the athletes in the region, stating that initiatives are in place to find and develop gifted athletes from remote areas.

He further disclosed that renovations to the Wukari council, the Gembu stadium in Sardauna local government council, and the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo city are in the works.

“The last year has seen a great deal of progress, especially in the areas of sports development and youth empowerment, which are vital to the future of our dear State.

“In order to better engage our youth and assist in exporting their sporting talents to the world, we will place emphasis on the Jalingo Stadium and sports facilities in Wukari and Gembu in our second year.” The commissioner made a pledge.

We’re committed to building on these victories and hitting even bigger benchmarks as we proceed. Together, we can build up our sports facilities, empower our kids, and make sure Taraba State continues to be a model of excellence and advancement,” the speaker stated.
