Before escaping to two neighbouring villages, where they kidnapped four locals, including a nursing mother, they reportedly also took the monarch’s wife, son, and four other people in the capital.
The late traditional ruler of the area reportedly supported local teenagers in defending the village against outsiders, particularly kidnappers, however the reason behind the monarch’s death is still unknown.
In an attempt to find the kidnapped individuals, hunters under the leadership of Dantala Adamu, the state chairman of the Hunters Association, are reportedly searching forests and mountains.
Dalhatu Kawu, the Chairman of the Ardo-Kola Local Government Area, affirmed the occurrence and mentioned that he had reported it to the Taraba State administration.
“We have bandits encircling our local government area and they are kidnapping our people day and night. Special police forces and hunters are trying their hardest to stop this,” he declared.
While confirming the event, SP Usman Abdullahi, the spokesman for the Taraba State Police Command, withheld additional information.
