Dauda Aboki, the chairman of Bali Local Government Council of Taraba State, has finally addressed the allegations surrounding the monthly remuneration of workers.
Speaking in Jalingo, the state capital, Aboki dismissed claims that some staff members have not received their salaries for over four months.
He clarified that most of the disgruntled workers are not officially recorded on the council’s payroll as their documentation has not been completed, leading to delays in salary processing.
Aboki placed the blame on the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and urged them to ensure proper documentation of the workers in question.
He emphasized that his administration has no negative intentions towards the affected workers or NULGE but is committed to following due process for accountability.
Once the proper documentation is completed, the workers will be included in the payroll and paid accordingly.
