Three people in total have been reported missing following a boating accident in Taraba State’s Ibi Local Government Council.
It was said that the accident, which happened on Thursday in the village of Damper in the Ibi District, happened when the boat was ferrying people to a nearby market.
Bala Bako, the temporary head of the council, acknowledged the disaster and stated three people were still missing while many passengers of the unfortunate boat were saved.
According to a source from the neighbourhood, the boat flipped over after hitting a tree submerged in the water.
A representative for the Taraba State Police Command said that the command had not received enough information on the accident when approached for confirmation.
