The results were declared on Sunday at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state’s Bodinga Local Government Area by the returning officer, Professor Abubakar Abdullahi Bagudo.

Prior to announcing his withdrawal on the day of the primary for the eventual candidate and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Tambuwal chose the PDP presidential form.

With his most recent triumph, he will, nonetheless, be making a comeback to the National Assembly as a senator representing the Sokoto South senatorial constituency. The governor was also a three-term member of the Federal House of Representatives for the Kebbe/Tambuwal federal district, where he rose to become Speaker from 2011 to 2015.
