Tambuwal: No Politician with Integrity Will Defect to APC Amid Tinubu’s Failures

Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal has criticized defectors to the APC, stating that no politician with integrity would join the ruling party under Tinubu’s administration.
Senator Aminu Tambuwal, the former Governor of Sokoto State, has minimized the significance of recent political defections in the Northwest. He claims these moves are driven by personal agendas rather than concern for public welfare.
After the inaugural Zonal Executive Council Meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Northwest in Kaduna on Saturday, Tambuwal spoke to journalists and criticized individuals who are defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), suggesting that their motives stem from self-interest rather than a commitment to genuine service.
People leave parties for various reasons. However, I’ve noticed that these defections are often driven not by the public’s interests but by personal benefits—what I refer to as ‘stomach infrastructure.’
Tambuwal expressed that any politician with a conscience would avoid joining the APC in light of the current economic difficulties and the inadequate performance of Tinubu’s administration.
The prominent PDP member criticized the government led by the APC, accusing it of lacking focus, empathy, and direction.
He encouraged opposition parties to unite and develop a strategy in preparation for the 2027 elections, aiming to present Nigerians with a strong alternative.
“There is no allure in the APC beyond individual gain. Those of us committed to this nation and dedicated to serving its people must unite to ensure that by 2027, we replace this administration that has let Nigerians down,” he stated.
