Aminu Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto State and the current representative of Sokoto South Senatorial Zone in the Senate, has voiced his disapproval of President Bola Tinubu’s attempt to distance his administration from the failures of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Tambuwal, who previously held the position of Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general elections, expressed his concerns that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has prioritized gaining power over addressing the security and development needs of the country.
He stated, “The Tinubu administration, which has not effectively ensured the security of Nigerians or promoted development, is now seeking to disassociate itself from Buhari’s shortcomings.”

Tambuwal stressed that Tinubu, who has benefitted from the APC under Buhari, should refrain from allowing his aides to criticize the former president’s administration.
He urged President Tinubu to focus on governance with a serious and dedicated approach, avoiding distractions that could hinder his plans for national security and development.
Addressing a PDP stakeholders meeting in Sokoto State on Sunday, Tambuwal encouraged party supporters to remain united and politically vigilant despite the current challenges in the country. He called for a commitment to positive change and political unity, emphasizing the significance of discipline and respect within the party.
Tambuwal commended the leadership of the PDP in Sokoto State for their commitment and efforts in promoting party unity and progress. He also called on party members to actively participate in the ongoing registration process to bolster the party’s presence in the state.
