The coroner magistrate, Mikhail Kadiri, has concluded that the tragic death of Sylvester Junior Oromoni, the 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lekki, was a direct result of failed treatment for his enlarged liver, rather than the alleged bullying and forced ingestion of a poisonous substance at the school.
Prior to his passing, Oromoni had reportedly disclosed that he was physically assaulted by five senior students at Dowen College, namely Favour Benjamin, Edward Begue, Ansel Temile, Kenneth Inyang, and Michael Kashamu, the son of the late Senator Buruji Kashamu.

Despite the accusations against the five students and five employees of Dowen College, the Lagos State Government officially cleared them of any involvement in Oromoni’s death on January 5, 2022.
The coroner emphasized that the negligence of both the parents and the doctor, identified as PW 3, played a significant role in the avoidable tragedy, as they failed to provide proper care and medical attention to the deceased in a timely manner.
