As Kogi State’s fifth democratically elected governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has sworn in.

Justice Josiah Mejabi, the Chief Judge of Kogi State, administered Ododo’s oath of office at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja, the State capital.
At precisely 2:27 p.m., he received the oath of office from his deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, who had taken his turn at 2:18 p.m., to applause from a large assembly of well-wishers and celebrities.
President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s vice president, Kashim Shettima, was present for the event.
