The Young Progressive Party’s (YPP) national secretariat reports that it is extremely disappointed with the ongoing leadership crisis that the party’s Abia State chapter is experiencing.
It suggested that, while awaiting the conclusion of the current intervention, the pre-crisis state of affairs be preserved.

The YPP claimed in a statement signed by Egbeola Wale Martins, the National Publicity Secretary, that Mr. Uluocha Nelccin Chiemezuo, the embattled State Chairman, who was suspended by the SWC last week, remained the official Chairman of the Abia State chapter.
It counselled Uzodinma Nwoko, who the SWC had chosen as the acting Chairman, to desist from self-promotion.
In the event that concerned stakeholders disregarded the warnings of the YPP national body, the party threatened to take “extreme measures” against them.
“We strongly condemn the current leadership crisis rocking the Young Progressives Party in the State. The National leadership will not hesitate to take extreme measures to restore sanity if persistent cautions are ignored by concerned stakeholders,” the statement read. “The Young Progressives Party is not a lawless political party.”
According to Obasanjo News24, Mr. Uluocha Nelccin Chimezuo, the State Chairman of the YPP in Abia State, was recently suspended for taking a job as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Victor Ikeji, the Chairman of Umuahia North Local Government.
