Members of the Oyo State House of Assembly are currently tense due to the impending suspension of eleven legislators, as exclusively reported by Obasanjonews.com.
There are 32 members of the state House of Assembly, according to Obasanjonews.com.
According to Obasanjonews.com, all eleven of the legislators targeted for suspension are newcomers to the state House of Assembly.
Seven legislators are affiliated with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while four are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to information obtained by our correspondent.
The seven PDP lawmakers are: Bisi Oluranti Micheal (Ogbomoso North); Olajide Operinde (Afijio constituency); Waheed Akintayo (Oluyole constituency); Olufunke Comforter (Ibadan North constituency I); Abiodun Babalola (Ibadan North East constituency I); Olorunpoto Oluwafemi (Oyo East/Oyo West constituency); and Dauda Olalere (Ibadan North West).

The APC legislators are: Ayinde Waliu (Irepo/Olorunsogo constituency), Jimoh Lukman (Oorelope constituency), Abdulazeez Musbau (Kajola constituency), and Ibraheem Shittu (Saki West).
Our correspondent has heard from sources inside the House of Assembly that these legislators have been suspended by the House because they are allegedly working against Speaker Adebowale Ogundoyin’s leadership.
Speaker Adebowale Ogundoyin was earlier reported to the governor by the eleven members of the House, according to a source who spoke with Obasanjonews.com.
The eleven legislators allegedly accused the Speaker of neglecting them and mishandling the governor’s presents for Sallah (Eid al-Adha), according to the sources.
The members allegedly made more accusations against the Speaker as well.
“All eleven members reported the Speaker to the governor,” stated one of the sources. They informed the governor that they felt ignored by the Speaker and that they were not getting their fair share of the benefits the Speaker was getting. eleven of them.
It has come to light that a few of the impacted MPs have been hopping around to make sure they avoid the impending suspension.
When approached, however, one of the lawmakers, Waheed Akintayo, claimed he had broken no House rules.
In a phone interview with Obasanjonews.com on Wednesday, Akintayo stated that he had no animosity against the speaker or the governor.
“I have no idea what you are talking about,” he remarked. I’m not aware of where the story originated. What I can assure you of, though, is that I have not broken any House ethics. My leader is the governor. I have no grudges against the speaker or the governor. The House is in session, and its business is operating efficiently.
When reached, Oyetunji Oyekunle, the Speaker’s Special Advisor on Media, stated that the House would discuss the matter on Thursday.
“The House will meet tomorrow to discuss this matter,” he declared. They will meet to discuss the issue tomorrow, Thursday.
