Suspense as gunmen kill pastor and his two boys in new incident in the Plateau
In the Ganawuri hamlet of the Riyom local Government area of Plateau, a Rev. Musa Hyok, a pastor with the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, was assassinated on Saturday night together with his two only sons.
The event, which happened late on Saturday night, was reportedly a retaliation attack for the killing of three Fulani teenagers on Wednesday in Ganawuri, according to an AIT report.
The trouble began when some suspected Fulani kidnappers were apprehended during the market day last Wednesday but later escaped into the hands of Fulani Vigilante who were to keep them until the arrival of security personnel, according to Song Mura, the youth leader of Ganawuri, who confirmed the development to AIT.
Muru claims that despite numerous meetings and pleas for peace, some suspicious Fulanis nevertheless attacked an innocent family who had nothing to do with the incident last Wednesday. The conflict started as a dispute, then developed into a crisis that resulted in the deaths of three adolescents.

The Plateau State Police Command verified the event through its spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, and said the command has launched an investigation to identify those responsible.
At the time this story was filed, the Ganawuri axis was tense as the Pastor and his two sons were being buried.
In order to bring about a return to normalcy, men from Operation Safe Haven and other security personnel have assumed control of the whole Ganawuri Village.
