Wike says that getting rid of the Ekiti State Exco will not help the PDP Chairman politically.
The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has asked Senator Iyorchia Ayu, who is the national chairman of the PDP, to suspend the G-5 governors and see how strong the party is in the face of the storm that is coming.
Governor Wike boasted that the G-5 governors are exempt from the possibility of suspension while speaking on Saturday at the State PDP Campaign Council’s campaign flag-off rally in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of the State.
We are above the level at which you believe you can intimidate or threaten anyone with a criminal action you have taken.
“So, please announce both mine and any other friends’ names. As I previously stated, will a man sleep if he says you won’t? Ayu will sleep? Will his accomplices sleep? So don’t be concerned; we can repay you. We are capable of letting you know when enough is enough.
When the Iyorchia Ayu-led National Working Committee (NWC) dissolved the Ekiti State executive committee, Wike reacted by calling it an act of tyranny that would be fought in court.
He forewarned that the PDP National Working Committee’s use of tyranny would not benefit the party in the upcoming general elections.
There are still PDP members who believe in the rule of law and that the party should uphold its constitution, according to Governor Wike, which is why the dissolution of the Ekiti State working committee would be contested in court.

“Let me also take this chance to tell Iyorchia Ayu and his group that dissolving the Ekiti State Exco will not in any way benefit them.”
You won’t get any aid from suspending individuals, I assure you. The entire battle line has been established. We will contest any judgement we know to be unlawful as I talk to you, using all legal means at our disposal.
Don’t assume that saying something like that will intimidate others; instead, people have been suspended. Rubbish! Absolutely garbage
He emphasised that the PDP would suffer greater losses in the upcoming general election if the Ayu-led NWC resorted to dictatorship.
