According to the Amotekun Corps, the Osun State Security Network Agency, its agents have detained three alleged members of a gang that is known for excavating bodies and taking out their parts for ceremonial purposes.

Adeniyi Adeshola Brown, the spokesperson for Osun State Amotekun, announced in a statement on Tuesday that the three suspects were Wakeel Baka, a herbalist, Akeem Hamzat, a 56-year-old chauffeur, and 43-year-old technician Kamilu Kehinde.

According to Brown, they were all taken into custody as a result of information that the Iwo Command operatives received.

During questioning, the suspects confessed to being in the business of removing corpses from graves and selling them to customers who require them for rituals that generate income.

“Akeem Hamzat was actually one of Ogun, who is currently at large with an exhumed body part, and not one of them.”

The Osun State Security Network Agency’s Corps Commander, Bashir Abiodun Adewinmbi, has ordered that the suspects be moved to the Nigeria Police for a covert investigation and potential prosecution, the spokesperson revealed.

“State residents are urged to be more vigilant about security and to always make sure that they notify the Osun Amotekun of any suspicious activity.”

“Please always say something when you see something.”
