Suspected kidnappers disguised as motorcyclists apprehended by Amotekun in Osun

Two suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the Osun State Amotekun Corps in the Oke Baale Area of Osogbo, as announced by the Amotekun State Commander, Brig.-Gen Bashir Adewinmbi.

The suspects were apprehended on the premises of Ogidan Grammar School and Nawarudeen Grammar School, Oke-Baale, following a tip-off from residents of the areas. They had disguised themselves as commercial motorcyclists.

During the interrogation, the suspects failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for their presence on the schools’ premises during school hours.

Adewinmbi emphasized the need for residents to remain vigilant, as kidnappers are using various tactics to trap their victims.

He warned that these criminals often pretend to be innocent individuals, but are actually notorious criminal

The arrested suspects have been transferred to the Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit for further investigation and prosecution.

Adewinmbi urged the general public to be aware of their surroundings and to promptly report any suspicious individuals to the security agencies.

It is worth noting that the state government had previously issued an alert on March 11, based on an intelligence report that revealed a plot by certain individuals to mobilize criminals in order to disrupt farming and school activities through kidnappings.
