The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested suspected kidnappers and a notorious cattle rustler. The suspects were apprehended during a series of operations in various parts of the state, leading to the recovery of stolen cattle and the release of kidnapped victims.
The Kaduna State Police Command announced the arrest of several high-profile kidnappers, cattle rustlers, and vandals across the state on Saturday.
In a statement to the press, Mansir Hassan, the Public Relations Officer for the command, announced that operatives from ‘Operation Fushin Kada’ apprehended six suspected kidnappers, one cattle rustler, and five vandals. They also recovered firearms and charms.
He stated that on November 12, 2024, personnel from Operation Fushin Kada apprehended four members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate active in Rahama Village, Dutsen Wai Village, and the surrounding regions.
He stated that the suspects, Yahaya Abdullahi, Shamsu Ibrahim, Linus Obasi, and Hauwa Mohammed, were implicated in the abduction of a woman from Rahama Village. She was held hostage for four days until a ransom of N3 million was paid.
He mentioned that, in another significant development, operatives from Operation Fushin Kada apprehended two members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate in the Ikara Local Government Area on November 6, 2024.
Hassan stated that the suspects, Surajo Hassan and Abdulhadir Usman, admitted to conducting numerous armed robberies and kidnappings. In one particular incident, a victim was held for 60 days before being released following the payment of an N8 million ransom.
On November 13, 2024, officers involved in Operation Fushin Kada arrested a 27-year-old man named Audu Abdullahi in Kujama, Kaduna. He was identified as part of a notorious cattle rustling syndicate.

During questioning, he admitted to being involved in a syndicate that regularly conducts operations using two AK-47 rifles and various other dangerous weapons.
The statement mentioned that after his confession, a search operation resulted in the recovery of a locally made firearm and charms used by the gang.
The spokesperson for the police added that officers from Operation Fushin Kada reacted to a distress call made by the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, which reported suspicious activities at the Kaduna State Trade Fair complex.
He reported that the team arrested Salisu Mohammed, Mohammed Abubakar, and Aliyu Isah for vandalizing armored cable wires at the site.
Hassan stated that all of the suspects are residents of Hayin Na’iya in Kaduna Metropolis.
During questioning, the suspects admitted to being part of a syndicate that specializes in vandalizing armored cable wires.
They identified Abubakar Garba and Isiaku Abdullahi as their criminal accomplices. Acting on this information, the investigation was expanded to include Malalin Gabas and Rigasa. The team successfully captured both suspects, who also admitted to their involvement in receiving stolen goods.
According to the police spokesman, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the state Commissioner of Police, praised the officers for their dedication and assured residents that the command remains committed to safeguarding public infrastructure and maintaining safety and security in Kaduna State.
