Six individuals were reportedly murdered and one person is still missing following an assault on Ogbaulu community in Agatu Local Government, Benue State, on May 14th.
Ogbaulu community has been subjected to frequent attacks by armed Fulani herdsmen over the past two weeks, resulting in numerous deaths and destruction.
The most recent attack occurred around 5:30 pm when armed herdsmen arrived from various locations and began shooting indiscriminately at Ogbaulu Market, causing damage to shops and loss of lives.

Eyewitnesses have confirmed that the attackers were well-equipped herders who entered the community through different roads.
So far, six bodies have been recovered, and more individuals are still missing. The attackers also looted shops, stole food items, and took away motorcycles.
The ongoing attacks and killings in Ogbaulu and other communities in Agatu have been strongly condemned by community members, who are calling on the government to take immediate action to end the violence.
The Caretaker Chairman of Agatu LGA expressed his anger towards the attackers and assured the people of Agatu Local Council that the insecurity would be swiftly addressed.
