Suspect Remanded in Custody for Alleged Armed Robbery
A 33-year-old man named Stanley Julius was remanded in a corrections center by a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged armed robbery.
Julius, who is unemployed and resides in Ungwan Sarki Malali, Kaduna, was charged by the police with conspiracy, robbery, and unlawful possession of stolen property.
The Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel adjourned the case until May 22 for mention and receipt of legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, as he did not take Julius’ plea.
The Prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, informed the court that the suspect committed the offense on April 11 at Kinkinau Kaduna.

Leo stated that Julius and others at large robbed Mr. Eric Daniel of his iPhone worth N380,000 and Samsung S6 worth N180,000 at gunpoint in his house.
The suspect and his accomplices, armed with a locally made gun, entered the complainant’s apartment and robbed him and his family.
The prosecutor mentioned that the complainant’s mobile phones were eventually tracked to the suspect, and the offense contravened the provisions of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
