The Supreme Court postponed making a decision on three distinct appeals that aim to overturn Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s election on Tuesday, January 9.
The court heard appeals from Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate in the state’s March 18 governorship election, as well as Kenneth Gbaji, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Ken Pela, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP).

The Lagos Court of Appeal upheld Sheriff Oborevwori’s election as Delta State’s governor, rejecting the pleas of the other contenders and their parties.
Oborevwori defeated All Progressives Party candidate Ovie Omo-Agege, who received 240,229 votes, with a total of 360,234 votes.
With 48,027 votes, Ken Pela of the LP finished third, and Great Ogboru of the All Progressives Grand Alliance finished fourth with 11,021 votes.
