Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has refuted claims of entering into any agreement with the Presidency prior to the Supreme Court judgment validating his election.
In a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, it was emphasized that the document circulating on social media, which suggests a four-term agreement between the Governor and the presidency, is completely false.
The Governor asserts that he did not make any agreements or conditions with anyone before the Supreme Court ruling. He urges the public to disregard these falsehoods being spread by those who oppose progress.
The Governor highlights that the Supreme Court delivered a landmark judgment that upholds justice, equity, fairness, and the integrity of the judiciary.
The statement also dismisses the fake agreement claiming that Governor Yusuf has agreed to join the ruling APC, abandon the dissolution of the five emirates, halt the demolition of illegal structures, and establish the Kano Elders Council.
The Governor firmly states that he will not be intimidated by political opportunists and that any political decisions in Kano will be made within the confines of the rule of law and the executive powers of the Governor’s office.
The statement concludes by affirming that no amount of blackmail will deter the Governor from fulfilling his projects and programs for the people of Kano.
The establishment of the Kano Elders Council is a personal initiative of the Governor aimed at finding solutions to solvable problems affecting the state.
