Supreme Court delays the cashless policy lawsuit verdict until El-Rufai and other parties arrive

The Federal Government’s lawsuit on a cashless policy has been delayed by an hour by the Supreme Court.

The decision, originally scheduled for 9 am, will now be made at 10 am.

There was no explanation given for the abrupt change in time, but one of the court’s registrars said the justices had given him the go-ahead to make the announcement.

In the meantime, the three governors of the states that initiated the lawsuit—Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, Yahaya Bello, and Bello Matawale—respectively from Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara—have flocked to the court to observe the proceedings.

A retinue of senior government officials accompanied Bello when he first arrived at the Court.

Later, El-Rufai joined him, and when he did, some of the top attorneys handling his side of the case greeted him at the door.

The three governors went into a quiet spot to wait for the Justices after the announcement of the change in judgement delivery time.
