A deadly clash occurred at Kaurar Zomo village in the Kunchin Kalgo district of Tsafe local government area of Zamfara State, resulting in the deaths of two prominent bandit kingpins, Kachala Gwande and Kachallah Madagwal, along with 12 other fighters. The confrontation involved three rival bandit groups operating in the area.
According to intelligence sources, the gun battle took place between Alhaji Tsauni’s group, Kachallah Jafaru’s group, and Kachallah Gwandu’s group on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at around 15:45 hours. The clash led to the reported deaths of more than 10 bandits from the three factions.
Jafaru, a well-known bandit kingpin operating from Faskari LGA in Katsina state, made a sudden move towards Kaurar Zomo village, which is considered Tsauni’s stronghold, resulting in the violent confrontation.
According to reports, Jafaru’s combatants were believed to have overwhelmed and assimilated Gwande and his fighters. However, the conflict quickly spread to other areas following the announcement of Gwande’s demise, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire with Kachallah Madagwal’s faction, who were eliminated in the aftermath of the confrontation.
Zagazola has learned that numerous bandits who suffered serious gunshot injuries were swiftly transported to the Munhaye Health Facility for immediate medical care.
