SuperSport has decided not to broadcast Nations Cup matches

The parent business of DStv, Multichoice, said on Wednesday, January 3, that the popular satellite TV service will not be carrying the forthcoming AFCON 2023 competition.

Millions of Africans are looking for other ways to watch the biggest football tournament on the continent after SuperSport TV was unable to get the broadcasting rights, according to a statement made by Multichoice on Wednesday.

According to the announcement, “SuperSport Channel has not secured the rights to broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023, scheduled for January 13–February 11th, 2–24. As a result, the channel will not broadcast the tournament.”

Nonetheless, Free to Air (FTA) channels operated by our partner broadcast stations will carry AFCON 2023 games.
