Christian Obia, the custodian for the Edo Queens, is ecstatic about her first invitation to the Super Falcons.
Obia was one of the 21 players selected to play for the Super Falcons versus Cape Verde in the 2024 African Women’s Cup of Nations.
The teenage goalie said receiving the call-up was like a dream come true.

She wrote on her X handle, “Am overjoyed to share the news of my first call-up to the Nigeria senior women’s national team.”
From our victory in Morocco at the 2019 African Games to this, it’s a dream come true. I’m grateful for the chance, eager to start a new chapter, and prepared to put everything into it.
“There is nothing that GOD cannot accomplish.”
On Thursday, November 30, the Super Falcons and Cape Verde are expected to play at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The second leg is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5.
The winner will get a spot in the Morocco-hosted WAFCON in 2024.
