Before Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, Wilfred Ndidi has been added to the list of injured players.

The midfield player will be sidelined for an extended amount of time due to a muscular ailment, according to information disclosed by Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca on Friday.

In his Friday pregame press conference, Maresca stated, “Wilf is the only one.”

He will likely need to stay out for a few days or weeks because that appears to be more than just fatigue, as we initially believed.

It’s merely a muscle issue that we dismissed as unimportant, nothing more. Though it’s not much, I believe he will be absent for a few days or weeks at least.

Victor Osimhen, a forward for Napoli, is already out of the two games because of a thigh injury.

Semi Ajayi, Samuel Chukwueze, and Taiwo Awoniyi are all questionable for the qualifications.
