Lookman, Boniface, and Others Selected for Super Eagles’ Matches Against Bafana and Cheetahs

Nigeria’s Head Coach, Finidi George, has unveiled his squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles are gearing up to take on South Africa’s Bafana Bafana and Benin Republic’s Cheetahs.

Leading the 23-man roster is Ademola Lookman, the Atalanta forward, who recently made headlines with a stunning hat-trick that secured the Europa League trophy for his team.

Also securing a spot in the squad is Victor Boniface, a Bayer Leverkusen player who played a pivotal role in his team’s triumph, clinching their first league title in 30 years and maintaining an unbeaten streak of 51 games.

The lineup boasts other notable players such as Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, Terem Moffi, and Maduka Okoye, the Udinese goalkeeper making a comeback to the national team after a hiatus.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to lock horns with South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7, at 8 pm. Subsequently, they will head to Abidjan to face Benin Republic at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny on Monday, June 10, at 5 pm Nigeria time.
